Precious Jesus, You came
so that we might know
we are Yours by choice;
loved, embraced, saved
by Your love and grace,
welcomed to Your family
and precious in your sight.
You came, so that we
might be made complete,
all we were ever meant to be.
You came, as a Shepherd
seeking every sheep that is lost
so You might bring them home.
In Your name we pray, amen.

Lessons & Carols Service
“After going through all the food that was donated from schools and other community groups for our Christmas distribution for Matthew 25:35 we found out that we were going to need to be buying way more food than we had originally planned this season. At our last Wednesday women’s Bible study of the year I stood up, like every Wednesday the past two months, and put out a plea to help these families with food, specifically cereal since it has gotten so expensive and since we needed 92 boxes of it. Instead of cereal they asked if they could donate money. Hands all over the room shot up with money in them. I thanked everyone while walking around the room collecting the money and then sat down to watch our video. My mom counted and sorted the money while the video played and wrote the total on a sticky note. When the video was over and people were getting up to switch rooms I stood up once again but this time with tears in my eyes. These AMAZING women just provided the ministry with $610 in cash so that EVERY SINGLE BOX OF CEREAL would be taken care of… in the GIANT size! The Holy Spirit is alive and moving in the people of this church and I am so blessed to be able to do ministry with them.”

Dear Lakewood Members,
The Staff Parish Relations Committee wants to extend our sincere appreciation to our pastors and staff for their dedication and service to our Lakewood Methodist family and community. In so many ways, their graciousness and hard work have touched not only our lives but also the lives of many outside our congregation. We ask you to join us as we collect a Christmas Love Offering for our pastors and staff.
We will have collection baskets in the Commons and in the back of Asbury Hall on Sunday mornings through December 15; in addition, you can go online below or drop your gift at the church office. Note, if giving online please select Special Offering for both fund and sub fund then add note “Love Offering”.
Let’s celebrate this Christmas by remembering our pastors and staff who don’t hesitate to go beyond what is expected to serve our church and community.
Abundant Blessings,
Staff Parish Relations Committee

In 2022 – 2023, Lakewood developed a Vision for the future of the church. The image above illustrates the key elements: Mission, Values, Measures, Strategy, and Vision. Highlighting our Vision – “Lakewood is the leading church in Northwest Houston recognized as the Center for Family and Education”.
An important question we must ask about the Vision is, “How will we get there?” We are led to determine how we will reach out to our neighbors and create a legacy of Lakewood in our community. The Long Range Plan answers that very important question and outlines our course over the next few years. It includes the following projects:
Committees were voted on at the Church Meeting on September 23, 2024, and sub-committees for each project began their work. The objective of their efforts is first to prepare a feasibility study of the projects, especially the Neighborhood Outreach Building and the Second Campus, then develop plans to implement the project, and finally complete a cost estimate. The results of the work will be presented at a Church Meeting where members will vote on each project. For the projects approved, a Capital Campaign will be launched to provide funding
Leading up to that decision meeting, we will be communicating progress to the Church in eNews and Church Meetings and soliciting input from all church members. A Prayer sub-committee was established to support the Long Range Plan. Please direct comments and questions to Calvin Cobb below.
