Thank You For All Of Your Help

Thank you to every single volunteer who helped organize and assemble flood buckets last Tuesday at our Flood Bucket Assembly Event! Also, thank you so much to Anne Kroon for organizing Tuesday’s event, purchasing supplies, and arranging the quick delivery of these buckets to Leona, Texas. We appreciate everyone’s help with this collective effort and let’s keep praying for Texas.

Weekly Life-Giving Moment

I have the honor and pleasure of teaching Chapel to Lakewood Little People. We set a special table at Chapel to have tangible items that show the kids who God is. We have an earth for God the Father, a cross for God the Son, and a feather for God the Holy Spirit. Each week, the class helper is called up to tell the group about the special items and set them on our altar. As God would have it, a three-year-old boy (who is not usually tuned into Chapel) had a turn to help. He did a great job, and he sat with me the entire time, helping me lead. I know that God has wonderful blessings in store for this child and his family. What a life-giving moment to be able to facilitate and share God's love with him and others.

Important Announcements

We Are Having An Amazing VBS

We are so grateful to the volunteers and staff who made this past week possible! We love every second of VBS, but it would not be possible to plan, design, decorate, organize, prep, or have it run so smoothly without each and every one of you. It has been a fantastic week and the kids are having a blast – thank you, again!

August’s First Sunday Pairing

For the month of August, we are asking for complete pancake mix (just add water) and syrup. The First Sunday Pairing is a monthly food drive to help restock the shelves of our community food pantry for those in need. Thank you for your continued support of Matthew 25:35 – this ministry changes lives!

If you don’t love to shop, please feel free to submit a monetary donation towards our Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry fund on the website’s Giving Page.

Matthew 25:35 Volunteers Needed

We’re looking for volunteers to help with our food pantry and clothing closet! Join us throughout the week Monday – Thursday from 9:30 AM – 11:15 AM as we serve our community by providing essential food and clothing to those in need. You can also help by becoming involved in First Sunday Pairings! You will aid us in the sorting and counting of donations on the first Sunday of each month.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give back, meet new people, and make a meaningful impact. Whether you can help one day or several, your time and effort will make a difference. For more information or to sign up, please contact us in the front office at 281.370.2273 or stop by and ask to speak with Kay! Together, we can bring hope and help to those in need!

The Path to Restoration & Unity

In our journey through life, we often find ourselves confronted with a challenging truth: admitting when we’re wrong. It’s human nature to justify our actions or shift blame onto others, especially when we’ve made a mistake. But what if this reluctance to acknowledge our faults is holding us back from something greater?

The concept of forgiveness is central to our spiritual growth and our relationship with God. It’s encapsulated beautifully in the phrase from the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our debts.” This simple yet profound statement invites us to explore the depths of God’s grace and our need for redemption. Interestingly, different translations of the Bible use various terms in this part of the prayer – debts, sins, trespasses. However, they all stem from the same Greek word, with “debts” being the most accurate…
