Lakewood's Preschool Registration Is Open
Lakewood’s Little People Preschool is now beginning their registration for the 2025-2026 school year. Lakewood Methodist members and previously enrolled families may register in-person in the Preschool Office in the Education Wing beginning today, February 20. Registration will open up to the rest of the community beginning on Tuesday, February 25. Call the Lakewood Little People Preschool Office at 281.370.2276 to schedule a tour or for more information on enrollment.

Gatherhouse Worship Night Deadline Today
Tomorrow night, we will be gathering in Asbury Hall for another special Worship Night hosted by Gatherhouse! They are an excellent praise band, with a huge following, and they are blessing our community once again tomorrow, February 21 at 7:00 PM. This is a free event for our congregation, but it is important to RSVP as space will fill up fast – during the last event, there were about 600 people in Asbury Hall! This will be an amazing night of praise and prayer, so please register below.
Lakewood’s Website Seminar This Sunday
Is our website easy for you to navigate, do you feel confident finding important church information online, or do you know how to use a QR Code? If you answered “no”, then this Website and Technology Seminar is for you! Join Naomi Baum, our Communications Director in Founders Court on Sunday, February 23 at 12:30 PM for an educational meeting going over how to navigate our website’s most visited pages, how to use commonly found Communication tools you may see around the church like QR Codes, and to ask any questions you may have about the website or other technology that our congregation may use on a weekly basis! Parent’s Night Out Next Month
Calling all Lakewood parents!! We have a special opportunity coming up on Friday, March 7 for parents to take a night off from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. Elementary-aged students will enjoy a fun night of sports led by staff members from Armored Sports. Preschool-aged children (ages 2-5, and not in kindergarten) will enjoy fun activities in the Children’s Wing. For all the kids, pizza, carrots, ranch, cookies and drinks will be provided for dinner! (If your child is allergic to items served, please provide an alternative dinner.) The cost will be $25/child, and you will be able to pay through the Registration Form found below.

Weekly Life-Giving Moment
My son, now 53, asked me over twenty-years ago not to talk to him about God, the Bible, attending church, or faith. In order to maintain a relationship with him, I told him I would try to honor his request. On Friday, he called me to tell me about how his house in Austin caught fire due to a malfunction in the fireplace. Due to the quick response of the firefighters, his house was saved. At the end of our conversation, I told him to let us know if there is anything we can do. This is when he asked if we could please remember him in our prayers; his voice broke and he was crying. We said a verbal prayer with him right then on the phone. What a God moment it was for us to have him ask for prayer; it was life-giving for us and for him!

We Are Looking For a New Music Director
Lakewood Methodist Church is a vibrant growing church in the Northwest part of Houston, Texas. With two growing traditional worship services, we are seeking to hire a Director of Traditional Music Ministries to lead the congregation in worship through our music ministries. In addition to our Chancel Choir, we have two bell choirs, two children’s choirs, a men’s choir, and a women’s choir. The right person for us will be an accomplished musician and experienced in leading worship and music programs. Lakewood's Kids Ministry is Hiring
Our Kids Ministry is hiring for two different positions for their talented and caring team. First, they are looking for Summer Interns to help with the summer programming and childcare needs! If this is something you are interested in please reach out to Jill Guettler below for the full job description.
They are also looking for loving individuals to apply for our Nursery Workers to help look after our infants – early elementary-aged children while parents are at church, meetings and Bible studies. Sign up for your favorite occasions and say it with flowers. Flower sign ups are now going on for 2025. Contact Rhonda in the office or email her to reserve your dates. The cost is $65.
