Our Preschool Has Openings!

Lakewood Little People Preschool is continuing their registration for the 2025-2026 school year! We are a play-based early childhood development program that serves children ages six months to five years old. We desire for each child to know God through everyday experiences as teachers and students are involved in Christian living together. We believe that a high quality early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment, which fosters self-esteem. Call the Lakewood Little People Preschool Office today at 281.370.2276 to schedule a tour or to get registered!

Weekly Life-Giving Moment

Our son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter Gracie lived with us for almost three years. This time was a huge blessing to all of us. While here, they participated in many Lakewood events and enrolled Gracie in Lakewood Little People where she thrived. When late last year they found a house and moved about 25 minutes away, we were thrilled for them to get this new start. All my kids and grandkids are always in my daily prayers; but early this year, for their little family, I decided to pray for some specific things. I prayed, “Help them to find the right preschool for Gracie, to find a church home, and to connect with some nice neighbors.” On our next visit to their house, we learned that they had found a preschool and wanted us to attend an open house; that they were planning to attend church there the next Sunday; and that their neighbor had walked across the street to introduce himself. God hears our prayers, and it is not just okay, it is important to be specific.

Supporting Our Community

June’s First Sunday Pairing

For the month of June, we are asking for packages of ramen noodles (not the cups) and canned fruit. The First Sunday Pairing is a monthly food drive to help restock the shelves of our community food pantry for those in need. Thank you for your continued support of Matthew 25:35 – this ministry changes lives!

If you don’t love to shop, please feel free to submit a monetary donation towards our Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry fund on the website’s Giving Page. Thanks for all you do!

Kenya’s 2025 VBS Wishlist

Our Kenya Mission Team is gearing up for their annual mission trip to Kenya in the Summer, and they are asking for your help with preparing for the Vacation Bible School they will be putting on! If you would like to be a part of changing these kid’s lives, please consider donating an item on our wishlist below.

Needs For Our Local Unhoused Community

Our Shower Ministry, as well as our 249 & Hope volunteers, are passionate about helping our brothers and sisters in need, and the summer time can be especially brutal for those living without shelter. Please bring your donations to the church office and mark “unhoused” – they greatly appreciate your generosity! They are asking for donations of: gently-used tennis shoes (men’s size: 7-10 and women’s size: 8-12), gently-worn jeans (in various adult sizes), and bug spray.

Our Food Pantry Needs Your Help

Our ministry is growing, and we’re excited to continue serving our community — but we can’t do it alone! We are looking for volunteers to help unpack and bag Chick-fil-A chicken for distribution to aid our Matthew 25:35 Ministry. If you have a willing heart and a little bit of time to give, we’d love for you to join us. Your support makes a real difference! Sign up today by emailing Sandy Baumgarten below and be part of the blessing!

Our Permanent Endowment Fund

Lakewood’s Legacy = Your Legacy

Lakewood’s vision for the church’s future is creating a legacy. We have well developed international and national missions that continue to serve, and our local ministries are growing to position Lakewood as a recognized outreach center serving our neighborhoods in significant ways – reaching out beyond our walls. Legacy building.

The Lakewood Permanent Endowment’s Fund has a goal whereby only fund earnings will support and continue our legacy for years into the future. As Lakewood members, we play an important role in creating and sustaining the Legacy by providing for Lakewood in your estate plans. Your Legacy will be Lakewood’s Legacy.
