Parenting With Love & Logic Study
Join Kris Ramos, Director of Lakewood Little People Preschool, on Sunday mornings for a study of Parenting with Love & Logic, starting Sunday, January 19 – March 2 in A205 at 10:00 – 11:00 AM. This series is a simple approach to intentional parenting that can be used with children of all ages. Each week we will discuss real-life strategies for raising responsible, confident children that are grounded in love and aligned with how Christ has taught us. 2025 Kenya Mission Meeting
Lakewood will again be sending a Mission Team to Kenya over the summer, during June 25 – July 10! Join us on Sunday, January 12 at 12:30 PM in Founders Court to learn more about the trip! The team will be supporting various ministries of the Methodist Church in Kenya. We will be sponsoring and helping with a medical camp for a community that cannot afford medical care, funding and helping with the building of a home for vulnerable or orphaned children, working with local church personnel to provide much needed medications for schools and the children, and visiting an orphanage in western Kenya to conduct VBS for the children and work on their needed projects. Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts Study
If you are ready to discover God’s vision for your life, join us for our newest weekly study “Discovering God’s Vision For You” led by our amazing Becky Roberts! We will begin to meet on Sunday, January 26 at 10:00 AM in FC108, by Asbury Hall. Please email Becky Roberts to register for this study, the deadline will be Sunday, January 19.
This study will focus on:
- Deepening your relationship with God
- Understanding and celebrating the spiritual gifts God gave you
- Understanding God’s call for your life and ministry
- Using your spiritual gifts to help meet the needs of others

The Lakewood Methodist Staff hopes you had a safe and Merry Christmas and were beyond blessed to worship with you all during this past Christmas Eve! They always wanted to share their deepest gratitude towards those who donated to the SPRC Staff Christmas Love Offering this past Christmas Season. They love you all and are wishing you and your families peace and joy this holiday season.
January’s First Sunday Pairings
We will continue with our First Sunday Pairing on January 5! This is a collective and generous effort by our congregation to help restock our food pantry for local individuals and families! This month, we will be collecting peanut butter and jelly (in plastic jars only please). Thank you for all you do for this community!
January’s Communion Rail Offering
Our Communion Rail offering for the month of January will be donated to our Matthew 25:35 Ministry, which is Lakewood’s community food pantry & clothing closet!
Help Feed Our Students in 2025
Our weekly Student Ministry Program, the Well, and our 4th and 5th Grade program, Elevate, is looking for groups or families to provide a meal to our students! The Well and Elevate meet on Wednesday evenings during the year. These programs provide a time for fellowship, worship, and bible studies for our students in grades 4th – 12th grade. The meal is an important part of this weekly program! Please consider signing up for a meal this semester, and you contact our meal coordinator, Kelly Niles, below!
