Gulf Coast Blood Bank loves Lakewood Methodist because they know we love our community and doing all we can for those in need! The last day to donate blood this year will be Sunday, December 1 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM by the Scout Building. Sign-ups have already begun and you can register your spot below, or even walk-ins are welcome! All those who donate will receive a free gift! Thank you for your generosity and help with saving lives!
We invite all families to join us at 4:00 PM in Founders Court for a fun-filled Family Advent Event. We’ll enjoy cookies, create materials to celebrate the Advent season with God and your family, and sing Christmas carols. Santa will be there and will read his favorite story! You don’t want to miss it!
Let’s gather together in Asbury Hall for a special Advent Night of Worship! This will be an evening full of praise, prayer and the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, December 4, at 7:00 PM! This is a free and open event. Join us for this special Advent kick-off event and feel free to bring a friend!
We will continue with our First Sunday Pairing on December 1! This is a collective and generous effort by our congregation to help restock our food pantry for local individuals and families! This month, we will be collecting canned chicken and canned fruit. Thank you for all you do for this community!

Get Involved at Lakewood
Have you ever thought, “I need to get more involved at my church! Surely there is something I can do to help someone!”?
Experts say, ”Volunteering is good for your heart and soul”… and Second Family at Lakewood Methodist needs you! For just an hour or two a week, you can put a sweet smile on the face of a lonely person or some happy countenance in someone’s heart. At the same time, you can give respite to a busy caregiver!
We are a group of caring hearts who offer a home-based program focusing on helping individuals living with a loved one dealing with aging issues by providing companionship, perhaps an outing for a meal or treat, or even a walk.
We currently have a waiting list of men and women who would welcome your visit. If you would like to know more about our Second Family care teams, please contact the Second Family Care Team Leader, John Gordley by email below or at (832) 978-8895.
