249 & HOPE
When: 1st and 2nd Saturdays of each month | 9:00AM – 12:00PM

We serve the homeless on the street along SH 249, between Spring Cypress and the Beltway. We provide them with a warm meal, snacks, drinks, clothing, shoes, toiletries, backpacks, and more. We show them the love of Jesus by chatting, encouraging, and informing them about services in the community,
CALL OF HOPE
When: 3rd Thursday of each month | 7:00 – 8:00PM
Where: Upstairs Loft

We use Rescue America’s anonymous phone call system and their provided script to offer women who are enslaved a word of hope and a number they can call for rescue.
DAYS FOR GIRLS

Help us assemble sustainable hygiene kits for girls which will be distributed to low-income schools in our area as well as schools in remote parts of Africa.
DISASTER RECOVERY TEAM

We partner with Hope Disaster Recovery to work with individuals and families in need of home repair projects from wheelchair ramps to flooring, roofing, painting, and more.
MENTOR PROGRAM WITH MATZKE ELEMENTARY
When: By appointment | Weekly for 30 minutes
Where: Matzke Elementary

Have a heart for elementary children? Beginning in the Fall our “mentor program” will resume at Matzke Elementary, a school we partner with. Mentors are assigned a student by the school counselor & we meet with them once a week for 30 minutes. I promise you will be the one “blessed” by this relationship.
SHOWER MINISTRY
When: Wednesdays | 2:00PM – 4:00PM
Where: Asbury Hall

We host our homeless community for showers, pray with them, and offer them a hot meal, water, clothes, shoes, and other supplies as needed. We also have a social worker available to advise them about any benefits that may be available to them and how to apply.
GLOBAL MISSIONS
2024 KENYA MISSION TRIP
When: June 26th – July 12th, 2024

Lakewood will be sending a mission team to Kenya this summer! The mission team will spend a week at the Maua Methodist Hospital supporting them in many ways, then 3 – 4 days at an orphanage in western Kenya, and lastly go on a safari in the Massai Mara. Look in our calendar for monthly Planning & Exploration Meetings.
2024 COSTA RICA MISSION TRIP
When: End of May, 2024

Lakewood is going to help spread God’s love and build his kingdom in Costa Rica in the last week of May! We will visit a Methodist orphanage in San Jose before heading north into the country to Guapiles, where we will provide Vacation Bible Schools and spend much of the week in physically building their church. God’s love abounds as we sing, work, sweat, pray, eat together, and more. Your prayers and continued support are most appreciated as we prepare and represent Lakewood in Costa Rica! Please watch for our supply collection in April!
