About This Sunday

This Sunday, May 18, our 11:15 AM Contemporary Service will be held in the Sanctuary instead of Asbury Hall. This will allow our volunteers to prepare for Betty’s Retirement Luau, taking place in Asbury Hall at 12:15 PM.

Weekly Life-Giving Moment

At the airport, checking in our bags. We exchanged greetings with the woman behind the counter. Her response to "How are you?" was distressed and with concern her voice. So we inquired deeper and discovered she was worried about her parents in another state being abused by relatives and feeling a lack of control of the circumstances, both because of distance and influence. We asked her, "What is your ask of God?" She asked for discernment. We asked if we could join her in prayer right there and she said, "Yes." We prayed and she cried. She was touched and thankful that we would take the time to care. We are standing in belief God will direct her steps for the safety and well-being of her parents.

Needs For Our Local Unhoused Community

Our Shower Ministry, as well as our 249 & Hope volunteers, are passionate about helping our brothers and sisters in need, and the summer time can be especially brutal for those living without shelter. Please bring your donations to the church office and mark “unhoused” – they greatly appreciate your generosity! They are asking for donations of: gently-used tennis shoes (men’s size: 7-10 and women’s size: 8-12), gently-worn jeans (in various adult sizes), and bug spray.

Our Food Pantry Needs Your Help

Our ministry is growing, and we’re excited to continue serving our community — but we can’t do it alone! We are looking for volunteers to help unpack and bag Chick-fil-A chicken for distribution to aid our Matthew 25:35 Ministry. If you have a willing heart and a little bit of time to give, we’d love for you to join us. Your support makes a real difference! Sign up today by emailing Sandy Baumgarten below and be part of the blessing!

Thank You For Supporting Your Community

Our Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry and First Sunday Pairing volunteers would like to extend the warmest thank you for our congregation’s generous donation of over 122 cans of pasta sauce and 124 packs of pasta noodles this past Sunday! We are beyond blessed by you all!

We Are Getting New Hymnals

Along with most Global Methodist churches in the United States, we are replacing our current hymnals with new “Our Great Redeemer’s Praise” hymnbooks. To help defray the cost, we invite you to donate books for $30 each, and you can even do so in memory or in honor of loved ones. Beginning April 27, there will be a table in the Commons where you may stop between worship services to place your order. Or, bless our worship and leave a lasting legacy by donating your hymnal(s) online with ease! No waiting, just go to the button below.

The old United Methodist Hymnals will be donated to the Texas Annual Conference and will be distributed to UMC churches needing hymnals. However, those whom we can identify who have donated hymnals in the past will be given the opportunity to take home hymnals previously given in honor or in memory of loved ones.
