Stewardship Sunday

Join us on this Sunday, October 25, for Stewardship Sunday.  This is our annual opportunity to commit our support to our mission of guiding others into a lifestyle centered around Jesus.  We are excited to see how your generosity through Lakewood Methodist Church will have an impact on people’s lives.

All Saints Sunday

This year at Lakewood Methodist Church we would like to recognize all the saints that have gone before us in the last year. If you have lost a member of your immediate family and would like their name read during worship on Sunday, November 1, please complete the form below.

While we would love to recognize everyone, please know that we will only read names of immediate family members that have passed away since our last All Saints Service on November 2, 2025.

The deadline to complete this form is Tuesday, October 27th.

Men’s & Women’s Ministry

Garage Sale

The Lakewood Men’s & Women’s Ministry Garage Sale is coming up on Saturday, November 7th from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

We will be accepting donations November 2 from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, and November 3-5 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (at Asbury Hall, on the Jones Road side).

The goal of this annual event is to raise funds through the sale of generous donations for missions and ministries of Lakewood Methodist Church!

Weekly Life-Giving Moment

”My sister had a stroke a few Saturdays ago. She had many family members, friends, and prayers warriors at Lakewood praying for her, and the doctors were able to remove the blood clot. She recovered rapidly, and she was released from the hospital on the Tuesday after that Saturday with no remaining symptoms and no need for any therapy. Praise God!

50th Anniversary Celebration

Lakewood Methodist Church will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary this Sunday, October 25th from 4-6:30.

Our congregation will be invited to join us in a dynamic archival presentation with photos and memories from years past, former Lakewood pastors speaking, and a celebration of the church past, present, and future.

Pray For Your Pastor

October is Pastor Appreciation month, and what better way to appreciate our pastors than to cover them in prayer? We are living in a time when the pressures on our pastors have never been greater. Now, more than ever, our pastors need our prayers.

We Are Hiring

The Director of Community Life serves as the primary steward of Lakewood Methodist Church’s community engagement initiatives. This role develops and oversees outreach ministries and cultivates partnerships with local organizations. The Director will build meaningful connections between the church and its surrounding community while empowering lay leadership to support these ministries. This position requires balancing administrative responsibilities with creative program development to fulfill the church’s vision of community service. The Director of Community Life also brings leadership and organizational skills to facilitate church-wide opportunities for fellowship and community formation.  Interested persons may request a full job description or submit their resume to Jessica Clifford, along with a cover letter and references.

NextGen Administrative Coordinator

The NextGen Administrative Coordinator works in unison with the Kids Ministry and Student Ministry teams to provide administrative, operational, and ministry support for children, students, and their families. This position serves as the Nursery Coordinator for Kids Ministry and supports communications, registration, records, check-in processes, event preparation, and other ministry systems for both departments. Work time will be allocated approximately equally between Kids Ministry and Student Ministry, with seasonal adjustments coordinated by the Associate Pastor of Build Up Ministries to ensure that both ministries receive appropriate support.

Flannels & Film

Flannels and Film is a family friendly event. We’ll meet together in Asbury Hall at 5:30pm on Friday, November 13. Families bring blankets, chairs, pillows, and their dinner. Popcorn, hot chocolate and warm apple cider will be provided by Kids Ministry. The movie, David, will begin at 6:00pm.

Blood Drive


Sunday, November 1 | All Morning

Gulf Coast Blood Bank loves Lakewood Methodist Church because they know we love our community and doing all we can for those in need! The next Quarterly Blood Drive is Sunday, November 1 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Scout Building. Thank you for your generosity and help with saving lives. Please register your spot below, but walk-ins are welcome. Donors will receive a free gift for their donation!

Matthew 25:35 Thanksgiving Meals

 

This year we are providing Thanksgiving meals to 47 families (around 300 people).  These families stem from 9 different elementary schools in our community: Black, Blackshear, Hamilton, Krahn, Lakewood, Matzke, Millsap, Moore and Willow Creek.  We are so appreciative for any and all help you are willing to provide during our season of giving thanks!

Donations can be dropped off in the blue wagons outside the church front office during business hours (please make sure gift cards are handed to a staff member) or at any of the blue wagons before services on Sundays on or PREFERABLY BEFORE November 12th.  Please label your donations “Thanksgiving.” We use paper bags to distribute food to the families. We would appreciate it if you could drop your donations off in paper bags so that we can reuse/recycle them (this is not a necessity, just preferred).

First Sunday Pairings

Don’t forget about our first Sunday pairing, coming up on November 1.  This month’s pairings are 12.5 oz. cans of chicken and 45 oz. spaghetti sauce in cans or plastic jars.

Home Communion

Home Communion is available to anyone who is homebound or who, for any reason, would like to receive communion at home. If you or someone you know would like to receive Home Communion, please email Amy Amodio below.
