The homeless outreach team prayed for me continuously. I'm now no longer homeless. I have gone to rehab, I'm in a sober living home, and I plan to attend church this Sunday to have fellowship and worship Christ. Thank you Lakewood Methodist for always showing me the love of Christ!

We are in need of two volunteers to run sound in our 8:45AM and 10:00AM Traditional Services. We are looking for volunteers to help us for just one hour on Sundays, and the best part is that you can come with your family to the Traditional Service you already regularly attend and then leave after. Plus, all training is provided! Please email Pastor Jacob below if you are interested in helping us with.

Thank you so much for your generosity of spirit with our Matthew 25:35 Clothing Closet! At this time we are no longer taking donations for the Clothing Closet since it is full. However, our Unhoused Shower Team and 249 & Hope Team are asking for specific donations of men’s and women’s casual clothing and tennis shoes for us to provide to our unhoused guests on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We will be taking new Directory photos with a new photo background – you get the digital photos and an online PDF version of the new directory for free if you get your picture taken! The photos will be taken on Sundays in November, December, January, and February from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Lakewood Methodist Church is blessed to have so many new members join our church in the past two years! We want everyone to be able to recognize each other no matter how long you have been coming. You will be able to sign-up starting next week!

Did you know that Lakewood Methodist Church is on Facebook and has a new Facebook Page for you to follow! Where do we turn for help when we need it? In Psalm 121:1 the question is asked “I lift up my eyes to the hills – from where will my help come?” In the Ancient near East, pagan shrines and temples were placed on the tops of hills. So, when the psalmist poses this question, they are asking, “Does my help come from these various false gods?” This is obviously not where our help comes from, but how often do we turn to things which promise to give us the hope we need but do not actually have the power to do so?
