Call to Worship
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul!
I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save,
when their spirit departs, they return to the ground,
On that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is in the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.
Refer: Psalm 146:1-5
Thanksgiving
Lord, we are thankful and mindful that all created things are Your created expressions, that all stories are held within Your greater story, and that all disciplines and order are after Your thoughts. May we never lose sight of the wonder and mystery of Your ways. How great You are!
Scripture Reading
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Refer: Proverbs 9:9-10
Prayer of Intercession
I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me from snares of devils,
From temptation of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near.
–St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer for Protection
Lord, today we pray for those in our congregation who are teachers, school administrators, and support staff. Gift them with wisdom, discernment, and compassion as they teach and serve. Lord, we ask You to give them Your eyes to see children or students who may need extra help, encouragement, or just a listening ear and loving smile to give confidence and kindle a desire to learn and participate at school. And Lord, please bless and protect teachers and staff inside classrooms, offices, halls, and campuses. Guide these educators to share and communicate their passion about the subjects they teach, in order to ignite a flame of curiosity and a hunger to learn within the minds and hearts of their students. Lord, You are the Master Teacher, Architect of life and beauty, Creator of the universe; we lift up educators and students to You for guidance, wisdom, patience, love, and protection, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Refer: Matthew 6:9–13
Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
