Call to Worship
Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him and praise His name! For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Refer: Psalm 100:4-5
Thanksgiving
Father, thank You for family and friends and for those who gave (and give) of themselves to us, who serve as a mentor and set an example for us. Thank You for all who encourage and walk alongside us, especially during times of heartbreak and trial. Thank You for this new day filled with opportunities “to treat others with the same kindness and respect we desire.”
Scripture Reading
12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Refer: 1 Timothy 4:12
Prayer of Intercession
I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me from snares of devils,
From temptation of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near.
–St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer for Protection
Lord, day by day, we pray for spiritual guidance and seek divine strength to resist things that are not of You. Lead us to be an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and be a light to others. Enable us to offer Christ-like care for others. We pray for children and students who are struggling with new challenges – possibly a new school or new class(es) or new teacher(s), or feelings of loneliness or of “not fitting in.” Help us to be a good friend; help us to listen with love and prayer. We pray in Jesus’ name.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Refer: Matthew 6:9–13
Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
—Numbers 6:24–26
