Call to Worship
Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic . . .
The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.
Refer: Psalm 29:1-4,11
Thanksgiving
Thank You, Jesus! You did not consider equality with God something to cling to. You made Yourself nothing by taking the very nature of a human being. Then You humbled Yourself to become obedient to a painful death (Philippians 2:6-8). The Word that was with God in the beginning, the Word that was God, became flesh. You made our hearts Your dwelling place, making all things new. Your voice gives light to our chaos. Thank You, Jesus!
Scripture Reading
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Refer: John 1:1-5, 14
Prayer of Intercession
I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me from snares of devils,
From temptation of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near.
–St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer for Protection
Lord, we pray for those who are afraid and hurting. We pray for Your perspective to see those who feel lost, alone or overlooked and forgotten today. May we share a word of encouragement; may we put down our distractions and speak to one another face to-face, just as You meet with us. Father, we ask Your blessing upon all ministries and outreaches of prayer and care through Lakewood Church to touch the hearts and lives of others for Your love’s sake. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
