Call to Worship
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants You have established a stronghold against Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of Your hands; You put everything under their feet.
Thanksgiving
We praise You, King Jesus! You are always with us, waiting for us to step out of the boat with You in faith. What do you want us to do today, Jesus? We say, yes! You are always on the move. Help us to keep pace with You. May we not run ahead nor lag behind Your plans for and through each of us. No matter is too small or too large for Your attention. You invite us to steward our part of the earth with You. Astonish us anew today, Sovereign Lord.
Scripture Reading
40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’”
Prayer of Intercession
Gracious Father, loving unconditionally, whose heart overflows with forgiveness, receive our thanks and praise.
Gracious Son, giving sacrificially, whose body bled for our salvation, receive our thanks and praise.
Gracious Spirit, flowing eternally, whose breath revives our faith and soul, receive our thanks and praise.
Father, teach us to pray as Jesus prays with You. You are building Your Kingdom here, one heart at a time; however, Your Love is not a power which isolates us from one another. Grant us a unity of mind and spirit with the mind of Christ and with the Holy Spirit. May we encourage one
another, building each other up. May we see our different gifts and responsibilities as part of Your one flourishing plan, and not as a competition of limited resources. Shine through us today, watch over our efforts with peace.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
