Share the love of Jesus with those in our community.
Disaster Recovery Team
Partner with Hope Disaster Recovery to work with individuals and families in need of home repair projects from wheelchair ramps to flooring, roofing, painting, and more.
Matthew 25:35 Team

Assist those in need with groceries from our food pantry and clothes from our clothes closet.
Wednesdays Shower Team
Wednesdays, 2:00–4:00PM • Asbury Hall
Host our homeless community for showers, pray with them, and offer additional support as needed.
249 & Hope
1st & 2nd Saturdays of each month, 9:00AM–12:00PM • Meet at the church
Provide food, clothing, toiletries, and care to the homeless in our community as we build relationships with them.
Benevolence Team

Serve Teams
Serve on Sunday mornings before and during our services.
Weekly Childcare Team
Share the good news of God’s love with kids ages infants through 5th grade. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Kid’s Church and Kid’s Core Groups (formerly Sunday School) on Sunday mornings
- Seasonal opportunities like Vacation Bible School, Easter, Fall, and Christmas Events
All volunteers must complete online Safe Sanctuary training and pass a background check annually.
Communion Servers
Sunday Mornings
Serve communion monthly and be a part of this meaningful element of our worship.
Greeters
Welcome visitors and members, share information about our church, and create a friendly atmosphere for all attendees.
Lay Readers
Lay readers serve in the Sanctuary service to help bring the Word of God to the congregation. They receive the Sunday morning scripture by email the week prior to prepare ahead of time.
Audio and Visual Team
Share Lakewood’s message through sharing slides, mixing audio, operation cameras, and directing production. All training provided!
Ushers
Ushers assist by directing people, handing out worship bulletins, passing the collection plates during the offering portion, and managing the attendance pads.
Sheepdog Team
The Sheepdog Team provides support for the church congregation and staff in case of medical emergencies, fire escape plans, weather alerts, disaster preparedness and other emergencies that may arise on the premises of the church, allowing our congregation to focus on growing in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ without fear or distraction.

Provide compassionate care and support to those in our church and community who need it most.
Flower Delivery Team
Mondays, 1:00–2:30PM • Meet at the church
Deliver flowers to homebound members of Lakewood.

Make handmade Prayer Quilts for those in need.
Second Family Care Team

Provide companionship for aging members of our church and respite for their caregivers.
Days for Girls
1st Tuesday of each month, 1:00–3:00PM • Upstairs Loft
Help assemble sustainable hygiene kits for girls which will be distributed to low-income schools in our area as well as schools in remote parts of Africa.
Prayer Team
Wednesdays, 4:00PM • The Parlor, next to the Sanctuary
Pray over specific needs and requests of our church and congregation.
Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.
Mentor Program with Klein Cane
By appointment • Klein Cane High School
Meet with high school students at Klein Cane High School once a week for 30 minutes, providing care, support, and guidance as you build a mentoring relationship with them.

This choir is the largest singing ensemble for adults and sings at the traditional worship services every Sunday, as well as at concerts throughout the year.
Gloria Deo – Ladies' Ensemble

Gloria Deo Ladies’ Ensemble, a subsection of our Chancel Choir, sings regularly in worship and during our yearly concert.
Cantantes Deo – Men's Ensemble

This beginner–intermediate handbell group is open to 6th grade–adults with any level of music reading ability! Hands of God plays monthly during worship and for special services. Childcare is available.
Jubellation

This advanced hand bell choir is for 8th Grade–adults, and requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of music reading and hand bell experience. JuBellation plays monthly during worship and for special services. Childcare is available.

Fairtrade Store
The Lakeworld Fairtrade Store helps promote global outreach and Christian love by providing a huge variety of hand-made, fairtrade goods, including jewelry, cooking supplies, ingredients, home decor, gifts, and more!
Fairtrade is the sustainability practice of connecting artisans with the people who buy their products by cutting out middle-man corporations who underpay workers and upcharge on items.
Any profit raised from our Lakeworld Fairtrade Store is put back into our Outreach Fund, which is used for local and global missions. Stop by the store to make a difference in the lives of those near and far.
