"It was a beautiful moment when Lakewood was able, by His Grace, to donate school supplies and desks to a very poor Primary School in Kenya. The Principal, teachers, and students were all very happy and grateful. A little later that day a ten year old girl, Morgan, came up to me and handed me a thank you card that she made after seeing the donations. I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. Every time I look at the card I thank our Magnificent God."

  • Lakewood has adopted an under-resourced Primary School that was in need of new floors, walls, windows, a new roof, chalk boards, and desks – our generous congregation provided all of those needs.
  • Our congregation also has provided the funding for the new water well at the school that now supports the entire local community.
  • We have supported the funding and building of many homes for vulnerable families with young children in the Murara region, like Emmaculate’s home.
  • We have helped with providing supplies and support to over fifteen medical camps in various rural areas, and provided the resources needed to deworming children and staff in over twenty schools in Kenya.
  • Lakewood has sent approximately 16 teams to Kenya in the last 20 years and have become very good friends with our Kenyan ministry partners.

This meeting will provide important details about our upcoming mission trip to Meru, Kenya in the summer of 2026. Next year we plan on continuing the great work our previous Kenya Mission teams began. This will include supporting the Methodist Church in Kenya (MCK) Ministries and Orphanage by hosting a Vacation Bible School, playing with children, and helping support the deworming of children and staff. We will also help build local homes for vulnerable families. We invite you to join us for this meeting to see pictures from past trips, hear moving experiences, get travel logistics, and how you can be part of this life-changing experience!
