Call to Worship
Therefore [Jesus] is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.
Refer: Hebrews 7:25
Thanksgiving
Thank You, Jesus, for Your word which shines new light into all places – even our deep secret places. No darkness can remain in the light of Your presence. All the fullness of the Deity lives in You in bodily form, and in You, we have been brought to fullness. Show us, anew, what that truth means today.
Refer: Colossians 2:9-10
Scripture Reading
9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Refer: Colossians 1:9-14
Prayer of Intercession
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life (first prayed by St. Francis of Assisi).
Father, teach us to obey the will of Jesus who completely obeys Your will. Come, Holy Spirit, teach us to pray as Jesus prays with the Father and as He prays for us as our great Intercessor, so that we may live a life that pleases You in every way. May we learn to pray continually, empowered by the love and example of Jesus. And as Jesus called children into His lap and laid His hands on them, we lift our prayers today to bless again children and youth, in Jesus’ name.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Refer: Matthew 6:9–13
Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
—Numbers 6:24–26
