Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!

Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods.

In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also.

The sea is His for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, as in the day of trial in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me; they tried Me, though they saw My work.  For forty years, I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.’  So I swore in My wrath ‘They shall not enter My rest.’”

– Psalm 95

Loving Father, thank You that You do not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. Thank You that as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is Your steadfast love toward those who fear You; as far as the east is from the west, so far do You remove our transgressions from us. Thank You for Your compassion today and forever.

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

– Ephesians 2:4-9

O Lord, direct our steps this day into the way of peace, and strengthen our hearts to obey Your commandments. May the Dayspring visit us from on high, and give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, that they may adore You for Your mercy, follow You for Your truth, desire You for Your sweetness, for You are the blessed God of Israel, now and forever. (An ancient Collect, A.D. 440)

Lord, build up and firmly root those who are mentoring our Matzke students, and let them see the fruit of their faithfulness.  May these mentors be well received by their students, and may both student and mentor be blessed by You and the time they spend together with You. Father, we lift up all of Lakewood Church’s local and global outreach teams, including the Kairos Torch weekend which begins today.  By the power of Your Holy Spirit, may the Torch team share Your unconditional love to bless these young offenders with the truth of Your Gospel that sets us free. Freely we have received; freely may we give, in Jesus’ name, we pray.
