Call to Worship
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul!
I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save,
when their spirit departs, they return to the ground,
On that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is in the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.
Refer: Psalm 146:1-5
Thanksgiving
LORD, thank You for being my Rock and Anchor, my loving God,
Deliverer and Shield, in Whom I take refuge.
Teach me to do Your will for You are my God.
Great are You, LORD!
Scripture Reading
Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You.
Refer: Psalm 143:8
Prayer of Intercession
I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me from snares of devils,
From temptation of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near.
–St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer for Protection
Father God, as we approach the start of a new school year, we pray for all families in our church with young children and students who will be attending public or private schools and for all families with children and students in our communities. We ask for Your protection and for their safety to and from school and while on school property. Give parents peace of mind as they entrust their children into the school systems and the activities they attend each day. Lord, all knowledge is Your knowledge, all wisdom is Your wisdom. We trust in Your loving care and in the safety of Your covering for Your children each day. We ask these things in Jesus’ name.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Refer: Matthew 6:9–13
Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
—Numbers 6:24–26
