Thanksgiving
Thank You, Father for Your character – loving and compassionate, holy and pure, good and merciful, gracious and faithful, righteous and just. O God, thank You for making Yourself known and becoming flesh in Jesus Christ. Thank You that everything You do is designed for our good.
Scripture Reading
11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Refer: 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Prayer of Intercession
I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me from snares of devils,
From temptation of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near.
–St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer for Protection
Father, forgive us when we have let opportunities to bless others pass us by. You call us to follow Jesus and to be His Body, His hands and feet, and we don’t want to settle for what is easy anymore. Stir our hearts to pause, to view others through Your eyes, and speak Jesus over and into their lives. Continue, we pray, to mold Lakewood Church into a strong, supportive Christian community lifting up each other, our places of work, our neighborhoods and beyond, in Jesus’ name, we pray.
As The Spirit Leads
Please continue in prayer for any personal, church, community, nation, or world needs, concerns, or thanksgivings.
Lord’s Prayer
Let us close by praying the words that Jesus taught.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Refer: Matthew 6:9–13
Thank you for joining us in prayer. We hope you join us tomorrow.
The LORD bless you and keep you.
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
—Numbers 6:24–26
